Nightjar Wedding Venue

Log cabin romance and rustic bliss, this one takes some beating. Natures beauty really does provide an awesome backdrop and gives a very natural and relaxed vibe to this venue option for smaller more intimate, alternative weddings. The Nightjar venue achieves what it sets out to do, but being totally different from the rest.

An open air old koffieklip chapel next to a waterfall and overlooking the dam and fynbos covered mountains serves as the perfectly perfect location to say your ‘I do’s’. Beers and ciders will then be kept cold on ice in sink baths with a large harvest table groaning under the weight of fresh homemade breads, meats, cheeses and preserves made from the farms produce, all served under the shade of a giant tree. Guests can chill on lawn furniture or a picnic blanket, cool off in the dam, fish or play garden games as the sun sinks beneath the fynbos covered mountains.

As the evening cools, the party will move into the log cabin reception venue. Built by hand from materials largely sources from the farm or valley, and the smell of lumber still in the air – you and your guests will find your dancing feet and boogie until you feel the need to retire next to the fire overlooking the dam and talk until the sun comes up. With a large roaring fire both inside and out, the Nightjar venue is perfectly cosy for a winter wedding.

Offering stunning views and rustic charm, this venue gives you the freedom to create a truly bespoke wedding. With two nights accommodation in the simple farmstead and stable rooms (sleeping 50) included and due to its remote situation, the Nightjar could be described as a laid-back festive wedding venue.

ACCOMMODATION

The rooms at the Nightjar Venue are reserved for your wedding guests only and are included in the venue price. If guests wish to stay longer than two nights, they are charged per room per night. Please contact us for more details. We have accommodation available for 50 people. 

The Nightjar venue has an uber cute bridal suite, oozing with cottage charm.  There is a hot tub to relax in and a designated hair & makeup area for you and your tribe to get ready at the morning of the wedding.  We can even organise your very own therapist to come and give you all mani’s, pedi’s and facials.

There is also an option to take the venue without the 3 nights accommodation in the Nightjar Cottage Bridal Suite included.

CATERING

It is compulsory to use De Uijlenes’ chefs and staff for your function when you book at either of our venues. We are flexible when it comes to the menu and can quote you on anything you wish, no matter how quirky your tastes are. We also cater for any special dietary requirements. WINES

We have a selection of local wines available, but you are welcome to arrange your own wine and/or champagne for your event at a corkage of R30 per 750ml bottle. Contact us for our latest wine list.

Our amazing wedding coordinators can assist you in finding incredible local suppliers, from photographers to DJ’s, that will help you make the day perfect.
