Forest & Old Barn Wedding Venue
Woodland wedding awaits! The Forest at the Old Barn venue is an enchanting secret forest venue for weddings that wont fail to get your heart fluttering as you enter through the gates and meander along the forest aisle. Exchange vows under the leaves of a giant oak in the depths of an indigenous forest and surrounded by a sea of white arum lilies. The pre-drinks picnic area in the forest is sparkling with fairy lights and a great place for your guests to wet the whistle after the ceremony with an ice cold beer or cocktail.
The wedding celebration then takes a truly epic twist as the party moves on to the Old Barn, a rustic 19c former dairy, implement sheds and pig styes which have been lovingly converted into a unique event venue. With several fireplaces, original features, cigar lounge and a large dining area with rustic wooden tables and chairs where you and your guests can party the night away in comfort, or make s’mores over the fire under the stars and listen to the owls hoot. Open the huge glass doors and extend the party onto the large wooden deck overlooking the lake and fynbos covered mountains. With four large fire places (three indoors and one large fire pit outside) the Old Barn is a cosy haven perfect for winter celebrations too. For the summer celebrations your guests can take a midnight dip in the plunge pool on the deck.
Guests can stay within staggering distance of the bar in one of twenty comfortable rooms at the Old Barn which are able to sleep up to 66 people in total. Your four legged family are welcome too, as long as they are well behaved and kept under control, we are also a running farm with animals and staff.

ACCOMMODATION
The rooms at the Old Barn Venue are located at the reception venue and are reserved for your wedding guests only. The 20 rooms are situated within gardens and a large deck area with a plunge pool, over looking the lake and mountains. In total the rooms can accommodate around 60 people with a selection of ensuite rooms, family rooms, double rooms and singles. If any of your guests wish to stay a third night, we charge per room per night for the additional night.
Three nights in the cutest Little Barn for the wedding couple is part of our full package. Staying in ultimate luxury, you will be able to relax in privacy and soak in the hot tub. There is a hair and makeup area for the bride and her tribe to get ready at on the day of the big ceremony, landscaped gardens and outdoor areas with stunning backdrops for those getting ready photos. Our chefs can deliver platters and bubbles to ensure you are relaxed and ready for the ceremony and party to follow.
CATERING
It is compulsory to use De Uijlenes’ chefs and staff for your function when you book at either of our venues. We are flexible when it comes to the menu and can quote you on anything you wish, no matter how quirky your tastes are. We also cater for any special dietary requirements or allergies, vegans, vegetarians, pescetarians, banters – we have done it all! We love to host an entire weekend of celebrations, so we also offer catering the night before the wedding, breakfasts, brunches and lunches for you and your guests.
WINES
We have a selection of local wines available, but you are welcome to arrange your own wine and/or champagne for your event at a corkage per 750ml bottle.
All other beverages for the event must be arranged through De Uijlenes. We are a fully licensed premises.
